I have worked in the industry for 10 years. My first hospo gig was washing dishes in a Thai restaurant at the impressionable age of 14.
From there, I started my apprenticeship to become a chef. For the past 6 years I have worked as a private chef. This role has taken me across the world working in countries like China and the U.S. and working on yachts in some of the most pristine waters.
Like many in hospitality I was underpaid. I used Hospo Voice’s tools like PayChecker to find out what actual pay I was entitled to. When going to the small claims court I was able to use all the information in Record My Hours to stand up, fight back and WIN! against my dodgy boss. I thought my past experiences would benefit members and that I would be able to coach them through their industry related issues.
